Joe Crichton has had a lifelong interest and involvement in sports and exercise. He studied sports science and has a degree in Physical Education from Otago University. Since then he has gained extensive experience in the sports and fitness industry, working in a diverse range of roles from coaching Kiwisport golf to a spinal rehabilitation clinic. He has also managed fitness centres and is a part owner and director of a fitness education company that trains indoor cycling instructors.
Originally a runner, Joe eventually made the transition to triathlon and duathlons and more recently to road cycling. Joe develops and runs cycling training seminars, coaches several athletes and was also the official trainer for Le Race and Road to Le Race Celebrity Challenge in 2005.
In more recent years, family commitments have limited his racing but Joe is remains active mountain biking with his kids and training for a half Ironman with his wife Emma.
Emma Crichton works as a vet nurse and has a running background, she has completed a variety of half and full marathons, the 2 day individual Coast to coast and more recently made the transition to Triathlon, she races half Ironmans and completed Ironman NZ in 2010 and was selected for the NZ age group team for the world long distance triathlon champs in Germany in 2010. She is our “product tester” and sometimes helps out in the shop.
